Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of that search. A message sent to us contains the information you choose to include and is used to respond.
Routine Technical Data
Hosting systems create ordinary logs, including IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review that information in aggregate for security, reliability, and page-use trends. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
How Limited Data Is Used
It is used to operate the reference, resolve technical problems, measure traffic, and improve the material. We do not sell visitor lists or create personal profiles of individual readers.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
New Jersey's Data Privacy Law, P.L. 2023 c.266, describes access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out rights for covered business processing. Its public-data and state-agency exclusions matter. Because this reference keeps very little visitor information, a request generally involves reviewing the contact mailbox and applicable server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. A public record held by a state, county, or township custodian must be addressed to that office, not to this reference.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
